From new miniseries to hilarious films, not forgetting documentaries on art and nature. Let’s find out what’s new from Netflix this April.

Madame Claude: French director Sylvie Verheyde traces the life of Fernande Grudet, aka Madame Claude, the owner of a brothel in 1960s Paris frequented by the most important personalities in international politics and beyond. Her influence extends far beyond the world of prostitution, until a rich young woman threatens to change everything.
Madame Claude is available from Friday 2 April.

Concrete Cowboy: Idris Elba and Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas from Stranger Things) star in the film adaptation of the novel Ghetto Cowboy. Cole is forced to spend the summer in Philadelphia by his father Harp, whom he barely knows. Unexpectedly, the boy finds family in the local black cowboy community.
Concrete Cowboy is available from Friday 2 April.

Hasta el cielo: Miguel Herrán – whom we hope to see again soon as Rio in The House of Paper – stars in an all-Spanish thriller. A story of robbery and escape takes shape on the streets of Madrid, Ibiza and Valencia.
Hasta el cielo is available from Friday 2 April.

This is a Robbery: the World’s Biggest Art Heist: this miniseries recounts the biggest heist in the history of art. It took place on 18 March 1990 at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston at the hands of two men dressed as policemen. To this day, the whereabouts of the stolen paintings, which together are worth billions of dollars, are still unknown and empty frames remain in their place.
This is a Robbery: the World’s Biggest Art Heist is available from Wednesday 7 April.

Thunder Force: To cheer us up, the unlikely duo of Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer are transformed into a superheroine duo thanks to a secret formula. Finally, something new to the usual story of handsome, perfect superheroes out to save the world.
Thunder Force is available from Friday 9 April.

Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!: Jamie Foxx stars in this hilarious series reminiscent of 90s TV shows. The official synopsis “A single father who owns a cosmetics brand has to learn fast how to parent when his stubborn teenage daughter moves in with him” provides the backdrop for a series of irresistible sketches and jokes.
Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! is available from Wednesday 14 April.

Life in Colour with David Attenborough: David Attenborough is back with his lessons on our planet. This time the focus is on colours and how animals use them to survive in their habitat.
Life in Colour with David Attenborough is available from Thursday 22 April.
