He is Nicola Laurora, in art Nico189, and he is a freelance designer and illustrator based in Milan.
His style, influenced by his background but also by the everyday life of what surrounds him, is a mix of clean lines and geometric shapes that define his aesthetics as essential.

When Swatch asked him to interpret the new Swatch X You customization service, the first idea that came to his mind was to insert his customised Swatch X You watch in a beautiful Christmas-themed illustration.
That’s how he told us about his creative process:

When Swatch asked me to interpret according to my style, the new Swatch X You customization service, I immediately thought about Christmas.
I represented a funny character immersed in the Christmas spirit, the pine, the decorations, the sparkle of lights and the gifts.
The flat design and patterns of the illustration recall the Swatch New Gent combo palette I created.
