When she was a child, Pilar Torcal dreamed of being a gymnast, model, and even an archaeologist; today she is a designer and illustrator based in Barcelona. After studying advertising and working full time as an account executive, Pilar realized that she preferred to take refuge in the realm of colors, rather than survive the grey reality of the office.
As with many impatient creatives, the artist also decides to continue studying and, after working for a while in a small publishing design studio in the city center, moves to New York. In the Big Apple, she was hired first by a women’s design studio and then by a large digital advertising agency called Huge Inc.
All these experiences have enhanced the skills of Pilar, who is able to design on all types of platforms: from editorial design to infographic, passing through apps and sites. The evolution and definition of her style are in fact the result of all the iconography and aesthetics that she has absorbed over the years.
