The first ever 3D art car by Porsche

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the first Porsche‘s introduction to the Chinese market, the German automotive manufacturer presented in Shanghai the very first 3D art car, inspired by the illustrations of Scottish artist Chris LaBrooy.
The project was imagined, in collaboration between Porsche and Garage Italia, after a meeting in 2020 between Ted Gushue (editor in chief of Type7 magazine) and Carlo Borromeo, director of the style center of Garage Italia. The idea was to create a new super car not designed for the street but as a work of art, involving a long-time fan like Chris LaBrooy.

The Scottish 3D artist has been creating renders for years that feature the most famous Porsche models, placed in improbable and surreal contexts, or assembled together with inflatable mattresses in the shape of pink flamingos. From this amusing image comes the work of Garage Italia, and the white, metallic and inflatable bodywork, from which the neck of a goose emerges.
The Porsche 911 is also LaBrooy’s first physical car, as well as an intense and complex research project of prototyping and bodywork improvement.
