Royyal Dog aka Chris Chanyang Shim is a Korean street artist from Los Angeles who started out on the street scene about ten years ago. Through his murals of black women in traditional Korean clothes, Shim creates the ideal portrait of multiculturalism.
In fact, over time, his works have developed this theme completely, extending it to other ethnic groups: the result is the representation of harmony given by the fusion of customs and traditions, belonging to cultures apparently very distant from each other. His murals celebrate peace and equality, among the most famous works we find “Peace To You”, where the artist depicted the singer Rihanna because she became a strong and successful woman starting from nothing, combined with the Korean flower, a symbol of strength.
