After having given back space to portraits with the photographic series “Ritratti Stampati”, the Sicilian photographer Salvo Giuffrida returns with an ambitious project that this time aims to give space to beauty, the real one, the one far from social networks, preconceptions and especially without filters.
The protagonists of “Nude” are beautiful women who undress in front of the lens, leaving behind not only the clothes, but also the preconceptions and standards imposed by society. They are shots that remind us that perfection, especially aesthetic perfection, does not exist, or rather, every body and every woman is perfect in her own way.
To do this, Salvo Giuffrida removes everything, letting the faces and bodies speak for themselves: no context, no background, no constructed or thought-out pose, no color.

Despite campaigns and initiatives born to the cry of “Normalize normal body”, the truth is that there is still a long way to go and just look at any advertisement or open Instagram to see how they are still proposed ideals of fake beauty and far from the reality of everyday life.
The tiredness, but also the happiness of finally being able to show themselves without filters is the message that comes with “Nude”: the women that Salvo Giuffrida photographs do not want to show their flaws, this is not the goal, they simply show themselves.
All the shots will be on display from September 1 to November 30, 2021 at Bar Ottagono in Corso San Vito 71 in Mascalucia, in the province of Catania, follow Salvo Giuffrida on Instagram not to miss the updates and his future works.
