All the Sneakers in Stranger Things

-
Giulia Guido

In 2016 we met Mike, Will, Lucas, and Dustin, and ever since then we’ve followed their adventures with passion—so much so that if we were part of their group of friends, we’d follow them into the Upside Down too.
Between bicycles, walkie-talkies, and shopping malls, Stranger Things has played a major role in bringing the 1980s imaginary back to life with almost maniacal precision. And within this reconstruction, style plays a fundamental role.

We, who have always told the story of streetwear culture and everything connected to it, couldn’t help but focus on one detail: sneakers. From the first season to the latest episodes, countless models appear on screen—sometimes absolute must-haves like the Nike Cortez, other times real gems, such as the adidas Japan W “Collegiate Green”.

We weren’t the only ones to notice the creators’ and costume designers’ attention to always finding the right model for each character. Proof of this came in the form of collaborations—especially exploding around the final season—between brands and the series.

As we prepare for the final chapter, we decided to retrace the entire series, one sneaker at a time.
