The photographic project of the Søster Studio is all about the authenticity and empowerment of women. The NSFW image series includes an exceptional cast: from designer Kama Krystel to photographer Anne-Line Nygaard, the founder of the Pernille Nadine brand who took these photographs.

An interesting aspect of the series of images is that clothes do not objectify women, but give them a sense of power and control. It’s not every day that a fashion brand makes a project that doesn’t focus on clothes. But Søster is different, not only an online store but also a place of inspiration.

“With this project I didn’t want to concentrate on clothes, I wanted to convey an emotion, a story, a truth”.

The images were taken on film without retouching, to accentuate the identity of the models and allow them to explore their sensuality. Diversity is another key point:

“Diversity and representation are also very important to me, there is a huge lack of this aspect in the fashion industry. Through each shot I try to reflect the society in which we live and the wonderful women who surround us in life”.

In the end, this project is a celebration of the union of women. Its main objective is to demonstrate that women should celebrate each other rather than be competitive.
