If there’s one thing Australians are famous for, it’s the huge, luxurious beach houses that have become true copies of metropolitan homes over time but built just a few meters from the sea. The owner of St Andrews Beach House challenged the Austin Maynard Architect team to transform and renovate his property, making it unique.
The first thing the architects thought of was to change the shape, so now the villa has a round base, with a radius of about 5 meters and is spread over only two floors. The lower floor houses the living area, with living room, dining room, and bathroom, while the upper floor is reserved for the sleeping area.
At first glance the St Andrews Beach House immediately conveys a feeling of freedom and relaxation, entering this perception is amplified by the lack of doors and walls, replaced by wooden beams and where it is strictly necessary, by curtains.
Think how nice it would be to go from the parquet floor of the room to the white sand of the Australian beaches without encountering obstacles.
