The Delirium Constructions, the shots of Sarah Small

The Delirium Constructions, the shots of Sarah Small

Buddy · 13 years ago · Photography

Sarah Small is a young photographer from New York.

Her compositions are surreal and grotesque, childish and dreamy. Groups of old people, dancing female nudes, wild girls, models with languid looks posing with animals. Unpredictable and alienating moments that leave us stunned to ask ourselves what stories, what lives have continued to pass after that moment.

Life is created in delirium and is disposed of in boredom.

Jason Levesque aka Stuntkid

Jason Levesque aka Stuntkid

Buddy · 11 years ago · Art

Jason Levesque aka Stuntkid is a self-taught illustrator from Norfolk, Virginia, and his sensual, ghostly works borrow colors and elements from the underwater world and his passion for the biological sciences.

Soft colors and intimate transparencies. Romantic atmospheres are mixed with repellent tensions, fairy-tale subjects, and hyper-realistic details.

His women, of a corrupt and violent beauty, move in ethereal landscapes that exude morbid anxieties. Jellyfish and snails crawl on the surfaces pouring bright colors.

His illustrations have been commissioned for comics, magazines, and periodicals around the world, from Playstation magazine to fetish magazine.

Anders Gjennestad aka Strøk

Anders Gjennestad aka Strøk

Buddy · 10 years ago · Art

Black and white figures run on walls of palaces and urban architecture, dragging long shadows. A perspective game that disorients our bored gaze, accustomed to wandering between empty and predictable inputs. The author of this poetic illusion is Anders Gjennestad aka Strøk, a Norwegian stencil artist.

Boredom is the protagonist of the paintings of Hope Gangloff

Boredom is the protagonist of the paintings of Hope Gangloff

Aurora Alma Bartiromo · 8 years ago · Art

Boredom and fabrics. Both recall the warmth of home, that comfortable sense of immutability that surrounds you when you drink a glass of wine, many glasses of wine, one evening, many evenings, sitting on the sofa at home or, sometimes, on the floor to have the slightest illusion of novelty.

Hope Gangloff paints this. His subjects integrate perfectly with the colored backgrounds of his paintings, the only thing that emerges is the face or, better, the expression of the faces: the fixity, the tiredness, the thoughts.

At the same time, he recalls Egon Schiele for the shapes of the bodies, Gustav Klimt for the textures and Paul Gauguin for the lack of spatial depth given by the particular use of color. All fused into a strident and, at the same time, harmonious whole.

It is easy to imagine yourself in a painting by Gangloff smoking a cigarette lying on the bed, wondering if you should put on a new jacket and go out or open another bottle and stay and fix the ceiling.
