In Cebu, a beautiful island in the Philippines will rise a magnificent 32-storey skyscraper, 115 meters high by Parisian architect Vincent Callebaut.
The tower will be called “The Rainbow tree“, named after the eucalyptus deglupta, a colorful tree native to the region, will be able to accommodate a very large selection of plants.
Vincent Callebaut was inspired by the “nipa huts“, or indigenous nomadic houses made with natural materials from the forest, the tower is in fact a staggered geometric stack of 1,200 prefabricated wooden modules.
“The Rainbow tree” will become a skyscraper for residential use, the project includes 300 apartments, but inside it will also be possible to find swimming pools, gyms, restaurants and offices.

The whole building as many of the last created will respect the environment, in fact in the floors 9-31 that contain 13 apartments per floor, there will be “sky farms” that will produce fruit and vegetables. The roof will be completely covered with 1,650 square meters of photovoltaic and thermal solar panels, creating clean energy.
Finally, 16 powerful axial magnetic levitation wind turbines will generate electricity without noise pollution, allowing the entire building to power itself.
In addition, it is estimated that the 30,000 plants, shrubs and trees on the tower will capture huge tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and then transform it into oxygen through natural photosynthesis.
A project that in addition to a beautiful example of sustainable architecture, will significantly change the skyline of the city, breaking the greyness of the surrounding area.
