Ling-Li Tseng’s installation was defined as “a whisper between man and nature“. Debuted in Houli at the Taiwan Lantern Festival 2020, “The Search of the Glow” is a light wooden sphere built with a series of connected ovals.

Together, the pieces form a hollow globe that is equipped with thin strips of LED lights, creating a radiant installation that shines in the dark forest. This glow turns into a “fog” that guides visitors into the temporary light pavilion.

The artist has imagined the finished installation as a refuge and entrance into “a unique spatial experience,” he says. “All the senses are slowly exalted and the rays of light guide us on an adventure in the fog. In a grove of trees, we discover an object that emits flickering light: its intertwined slats and curves dialogue with the natural curves of the surrounding trees“.

The search of the glow”, created in collaboration with Serendipity Studio, uses a combination of digital fabrication and traditional craftsmanship.
