TRAC – Tresoldi Academy presents “Cerimonia.”

In the area of the former Mercatone Uno in Bologna, was inaugurated the first site-specific installation created by TRAC – Tresoldi Academy, the school born from the collaboration between STUDIO STUDIO STUDIO, the interdisciplinary project founded by Tresoldi, and YAC – Young Architects Competitions, the architecture academy that allows young designers to collaborate with the most renowned architectural firms in the world.

Cerimonia, the 5.30-meter high installation made of wire mesh, other materials, and earth found on-site, is the result of the work of Tresoldi and 15 students from the Academy, who enjoyed the support of Urban Up | Unipol, the scientific collaboration of the group commissioned by Senator Renzo Piano G124, and the advice of Stefano Mancuso, the director of the International Plant Neurobiology Laboratory.

The installation, designed to dialogue with the biological phenomena typical of the area, will undergo changes over time that will redefine the forms of the architecture thanks to the spontaneous vegetation and the earth on the site that was first collected and then grafted onto the work.

The work will remain installed until the end of 2021, when the area, owned by the Unipol group, will be redeveloped after 10 years of abandonment.

The installation can be seen every day, from 8:30 am to midnight, through a transparent plexiglass wall, while every Saturday from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm access to the area will be allowed to enjoy the work up close.
