On August 8 and 9 in Catanzaro, the fifth edition of Altrove Festival took place, the project that, from 2014, aims to bring back the concept of beauty in abandoned places to aesthetic and social degradation. For five years they have been promoting art as a means of reconstruction and as a starting point for building a different, better future.
Altrove’s rich programme included a group exhibition hosted by the MARCA museum (National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art) and the creation of a new work of contemporary art.
For this edition, entitled Post-Graffiti Stress Disorder, the works were created in a residence, where the artists had the opportunity to experience the surrounding urban landscape at 360°. This shared experience perfectly recreated the typical attitude of the art of graffiti.
Waiting for the next edition, which will be held on 7 and 8 August 2019 and for which they’re working to strengthen the authority already achieved through the work of graphic designers, specialists in communication and social media, you can watch the experience of this year’s artists that was filmed by Nicola Barbuto, who made the documentary that perfectly shows the climate of Elsewhere Festival.
