Villa Radii, contrasts of materials and shapes facing the ocean

A 2000 m² house, isolated from the city and with a 360° view of the ocean, Villa Radii is definitely the dream home of many people.

Villa Radii, which for the moment remains a project, is a creation by the Lars Büro studio and was designed to evoke timeless forms and symmetries while introducing a modern composition.

Entering the property through the driveway you can immediately notice the symmetrical plan of the villa, but also the courtyard, and then you are left breathless to admire the villa, formed by two totally different blocks.

The first block, with a circular plan, forms the entire ground floor and looks like a cylinder with glass walls. Inside there are the common areas, the living area and an internal courtyard, also with a circular plan, which can be accessed through a rotating wall that opens onto it.

The second block constitutes the first floor and looks like a huge concrete cube, a material chosen to safeguard privacy, since this level houses 5 bedrooms, including the master bedroom, private living rooms and an art gallery. The lighting comes from outside through a narrow window that extends around the perimeter of the house and through a series of skylights. The only room with a large window is the master bedroom, which overlooks the ocean.

The contrast between the shapes, circular and square, and the materials, glass, and concrete, illudes those who enter Villa Radii, giving the perception that the house is floating in mid-air.
