Studio Roosegaarde, led by artist and innovator Daan Roosegaarde, has created a magnificent immersive installation, Waterlicht. It is a combination of LED lights and lenses that create a layer of blue light that moves according to the forces of the wind. This installation is nothing more than a representation of where the seawater could get due to global warming and climate change. 

The aesthetic, but also moral and ethical power of this virtual flooding made Waterlicht, from a site-specific installation for the Dutch District Water Board in Amsterdam, a travelling work, to be set up in London, Toronto, Paris, Rotterdam, Dubai and even at the United Nations headquarters in New York. 

Daan Roosegaarde describes it this way:

Walking under the light of Waterlicht is like taking a walk on the bottom of the sea.
