Graphic designer and visual artist Joshua Vides, of whom we had previously spoken here, has created a minimalist white and black chapel inside a Las Vegas hotel, to marry couples in an “Instagram-worthy” environment. The installation has been erected at the Palms Casino Resort and from 18 January 2019 will be available for rental of wedding ceremonies, renewal of votes and photos.
The White Chapel has been called Til Death Do Us Part and has white surfaces covered by thick black lines that outline the shapes of four rows benches, the pulpit, and the doors. As if it were a 2D environment, every detail inside the chapel has been designed by reducing the lines to the minimum, so as to make everything very socially and above all “commercial”: the cheapest offer is called Our Marriage Looks Perfect – On Instagram, for only $ 250, and includes an hour of shooting within the environment.
It seems that even the world of architecture has become a succubus of aesthetics promoted by Instagram, but as we know, in Las Vegas everything is possible.
