It would be nice to discover that one’s hometown, one in which one lives every day, hides a mysterious, fascinating side. That’s what the German photographer and art director Mark Broyer did with the series What the fog?

Mark, born in Hamburg, spent a particularly foggy night, wandering around his city and taking pictures that could have been shot on a film set.

The photographer prefers empty streets and avenues, where the lights of the street lamps that cut through the fog create an almost spectral lighting, projecting dramatic shadows on the ground.

At night the German art director discovers a side of the city impossible to see during the day, made of neon and almost uninhabited, entirely covered by a veil of mystery.
