Andrea Torres Balaguer is a Spanish photographer and artist, author of two series of hypnotic and mysterious portraits entitled “The Unknown” and “Moon“.
Her portraits do not show, but conceal the women faces he decides to represent, with dreamlike and ambiguous loopholes: it’s up to the viewer to interpret them, try to imagine a story, their life, where they come from.
The images of “The Unknown” and “Moon” play with composition and colors adding depth and charm. Between reality and fiction, photography and painting, realism and symbolism.
“My work is made about dreams, surrealism, mystery and the idea of break-up story. I’m interested in every image that tells something, that lets you the possibility of imagine, that generates stories and opinions. Thinking about the scene-action concept, I take pictures with a oneiric aesthetic that require the spectator’s interpretation, searching to experiment with the boundaries between reality and fiction.”
