Delicate atmospheres and obsession with symmetries are the characteristics that immediately affect who looks at the works of Andres Gallardo, an artist based in Estonia. His photographic project was born by chance, after being lost in the street visiting Seoul.

Initially, he had planned to visit famous places in the city, but after discovering the aesthetic power of the school buildings, he decided to build his own project.

Visual narrative is at the base of his work, correlated by common elements present in the various schools: symbols, writings and the analog clock. The style is characterized by soft-pastel colors and compositional perfection of scenes, elements that strongly recall the atmospheres proposed by the director Wes Anderson.

Each image has its own independence and narrative force, but if it is read in the whole of the project, it takes on a stronger meaning that is summarized in a visual flow. The artist’s intention is not only to tell about schools of South Korea, but also to bring the viewer back into a dimension that recalls childhood.
