While music and performance have always gone hand in hand, as have set design and costumes, it is equally true that audiences are increasingly critical and difficult to win over. It is often the visuals that make the difference and help create the perfect experience. Out of everyone in Italy, it is Matteo Milleri – member of the world-famous DJ-duo Tale of Us (also creators of the After.life format) – who sets the example. His solo project Anyma has managed to bring together the world of clubbing with digital art thanks to the involvement of visual artist Alessio De Vecchi. The result is so amazing that the last date of the 2024 tour will be at Sphere in Las Vegas. Indeed, the giant 110-metre high ball is the perfect venue to host Anyma’s futuristic ambient and cybernetic world. Genesys show will take place on New Year’s Eve and will be the first EDM event at the much-talked-about new venue, which opened just over a year ago. The official title of the last night of Afterlife – a format involving DJs from the Tale of Us label – is Afterlife Presents Anyma, The End of Genesys, underlining ‘the end’ of the tour of the latest album Genesys II. A preview of what the show at Sphere will be like is given to us by previous shows around the world, such as the last one in Italy at the Kappa Future Festival in Turin or Genesys II in Mexico City. The teaser video released yesterday to announce the date and the release of the tickets intrigued us so much that we wanted to buy the tickets on 22 July. In the centre of the sphere stands a huge cybernetic figure halfway between a man and a robot, intent on breaking the sphere with his fist, leaning out to exit. In short, we expect great things from this show.
