Hymne A L’Amour by Edith Piaf is the quintessential love song chosen by BBC Creative in collaboration with Nexus Studios to create the launch of an animated film in honor of the upcoming Olympic Games. This short film features no less than thirty-six athletes in fifty-eight scenes and includes many sports. The common thread of this project touches on a universal theme: love. Specifically, how love can be a driving force in the world of sports.
The story depicts the difficulties and challenges faced by athletes, followed by the rewards and immense joy of being the best in their field—akin to a passionate relationship. The spot takes us through iconic locations in Paris, such as the Sacré-Cœur, the Eiffel Tower, and Notre Dame Cathedral, while a French narrator describes the symptoms of love for sports.
