Ana Miminoshvili is a Georgian illustrator and designer from Tbilisi. Her latest work is “Blooming eyes“, where her plants almost come to life, adding numerous eyes peeking at the surrounding landscape directly from their pot.
This series of illustrations are very personal because they began as a sketch that she made after a therapy session, the artist in fact for a period of time suffered from anxiety.
Metaphorically, the illustration wants to reflect on social anxiety, fear of being watched and the pressure of exposure to social media.
“Blooming eyes” is a series of drawings undoubtedly surreal but with a deep meaning, the artist was also very attentive to detail. In these plants, you can perceive a pain so strong that it is almost physical, as the eyes seem to communicate not only melancholy but even stained with blood, giving the sclerae a pink hue that integrates and blends with the pink flowers.
