Milan is grey. Those who were born there, those who have only seen it in passing and those who have moved there for work or study know this. But perhaps from today it will be a little less so, all thanks to the artist Camilla Falsini.
Born in Rome, Camilla Falsini is an all-round artist, ranging from illustration to site-specific works and street art, and it is precisely because of the latter that she was chosen by the City of Milan for the “Piazze Aperte” project. The initiative aims to give new life to public spaces that are sometimes neglected, such as certain areas of squares or streets.
“Piazze Aperte” is a project that has been changing the face of the city for some years now, and can now also count on two impeccable works by Camilla Falsini.
The first was completed earlier this year and involved the creation of a mural in Piazzale Loreto. Passers-by may recognize geometric shapes forming stylized houses and buildings, but seen from above, this work created on the asphalt reveals the words “Loreto”.
The second has just been completed in Piazza Minniti, in the Isola area, and here too the coloured shapes covering the asphalt form the name of the neighbourhood.
Camilla Falsini’s is the touch of colour that Milan needed!
