In Italy, football is more than just a playing rectangle with two teams vying for victory. In Italy soccer is culture, passion, love and hate, it is a way of being, it is taking a stand. Being part of supporters is even more so.
In southern Italy especially, it also represents an outlet for daily uncertainty, a time to step outside the dynamics of territories with severe economic difficulties and almost zero job prospects.

And so here, as in South America, passion and cheering become a way of life, the stadium the habitat in which to express the fire that burns within the playing rectangle.
The same fire that resides in the magma chamber of the volcano Etna, emerges at the Angelo Massimino stadium when the Catania Football team enters the field. From these strong vibrations, from the contrast between red and blue, sea and mountain, the “Catania Football Scarf” project was born.

Born in 2018, the project came to life as a pure exercise in style by Art Director Andrea Carveni, which became concrete in 2022 with the creation of the scarf through his emerging brand, Muten Crew. The item is a crossover that has as its aesthetic inspiration the world of fashion, and that of ultras for the insertive elements, with hues that recall the colors of the fans but also the world of tie dye.

The project then gained greater communicative force with the “I’m the face of my city” shoot, created by Andres Suarez, which tells the story of the facets of the city of Catania and its fans through a series of photographic portraits of its local heroes: from the neighborhood markets to the most difficult neighborhoods, from the streets of the historic center to precisely, the temple, the Angelo Massimino stadium.

The whole has been collected within a Fanzine printed on 90gr usomano paper in A5 format, which will be distributed free of charge with orders of the scarf and sold separately on the brand’s website www.mutencrew.com.
