Have you ever seen in person one of the indistinguishable installations of Felice Varini? About its skills with colors and optical illusions we have already written here, but if you want to catch up in person, don’t worry, there’s a great opportunity until September.
The Swiss artist had been mandated on April by France’s Centre des Monuments Nationaux to realize one of his works on the walls of Carcassonne, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The result is an installation – Concentric Concentric – at least concentric and yellow: don’t be fooled by the photos, the circles that compose the optical illusion and the installation itself are not painted on walls, they are very thin pieces of aluminum, disposed of in a specific way by local art students.
The visitors are divided between a great love and a not great appreciation of the work, others are still probably victims of the optical illusion. If you want to test your sight, Carcassonne and Felice Varini’s installation wait for you until September.
