Multidisciplinary artist Fabian Oefner recently worked on a series called “CutUp” in which he literally cut vintage cameras into slices or cubes to create unique resin sculptures as the end result.
His process involves the use of a “unique mix of high-end and low-end technologies“. The cameras are coated with resin and left to dry, then cut and assembled again, in an orderly and sequential manner, but each piece keeps a certain distance from each other.
Oefner wants to show the inner workings of these valuable devices. A surgical operation that allows the artist to dissect these objects and show their internal charm.
