The series of portraits “Ten Minutes Drawing” describes well the multidisciplinary approach of the artist Federica Del Proposto and to synthesize in a single project different disciplines learned during her long career.
A series of portraits of artists, musicians and actors, with a style defined by precise moments in the artist’s history. Architecture is Del Proposto’s training discipline, studied in Rome before moving to Paris for work. During these years he also developed a passion for the visual arts, in particular for comics, and began publishing for the Italian publisher Coconino Pres. It was his approach to illustration as a rapid technique using flat, contrasting marks that gave rise to “Ten Minutes Drawing”.

During the summer of 2021, Federica Del Proposto was advised by her doctors to paint for no more than a few minutes a day due to compression of the ulnar nerve in her left arm. Putting the techniques the artist used for work on hold, she began to focus on a new style, using brushstrokes to create minimal portraits developed through curved lines.
Once healed, the illustrator continued to produce work following the approach of immediacy, always maintaining a flat, full background, along with a reduced palette that manages to make the many faces portrayed recognisable, from Sean Penn to David Bowie, Rihanna to Madonna.
