Some time ago we talked about Bartosz Domiczek on the Northern Wisps project, the prefabricated cabins. Now let’s talk about it again because his latest project – which is completely separate from the habitable cabins – shows excellently how two diametrically different styles can coexist in a single structure. It’s called Henge Hill House and it’s a luxurious hillside villa from an old farm warehouse. 

The original structure, with a radial plan and exterior parts covered in ashlar, has remained unchanged, but elements in more modern materials such as marble have been integrated. There are three main features of Henge Hill House. The first is the circular-shaped swimming pool located on the same level as the roof. The second is the inner courtyard, built exactly in the centre of the house. The third, and perhaps the most important, is the circular corridor that surrounds the entire structure and which is separated from the outside by an arcade that frames the landscape in large arches. 

With the Henge Hill House, Bartosz Domiczek has managed to bring out the typical features of the old farm warehouses, but without abandoning the most sought-after and fashionable trends of the moment.
