Luke Brookes is an illustrator who is impossible not to be charmed by. Born in the UK, he already has important collaborations with Playboy, Virgin and many others.
His work combines a strong graphic and narrative style with dramatic lighting and a narrow colour palette, creating vivid graphic compositions with a futuristic aesthetic.
From an early age he loved to draw, he realized his dream of becoming an illustrator, telling stories through his art.
His influences and drawing style has changed constantly over time, in his illustrations he skillfully uses shadows to add weight and atmosphere. First, he writes everything down on paper, as if he were thinking out loud, with miniature drawings quickly sketched to solidify an idea and composition.
Once this process is finished, he brings his ideas to the computer, using various graphic programs to refine his drawings, giving them those unique colors that characterize him.
Precisely those colors make him an artist recognizable at first glance. In fact he uses a limited palette usually only with four or five colours. A difficult choice, in fact, before filling the whole illustration with color, think about how they interact with the drawing and how this will change the lighting and composition of the piece.
The colours are the fundamental part, in some works it takes much more time to decide where to place them as to create the work itself.
Only a few colours are needed to define Luke Brookes, an artist capable of giving new emotions and sensations through plays of light and shadow.
