Patricia Voulgaris is a New York artist and photographer who creates surprising images that portray deconstructed bodies that question the way the viewer perceives them.
Hiding different parts of the body behind white or colored cardsheets, her conceptual images combine space, object and matter.
As she said, her work focuses mainly on the combination of photography and sculpture, using the human form as a starting point to work on objectification, juxtaposition, stratification and context.
What interests her is to deconstruct an image, move it into a new context and create a manipulated hybrid result.
