Born in Cattolica in 1981, Virginia Mori is an Italian illustrator known for her drawings and her illustrated videos and films. We can say that her art, unlike that of many of her contemporary colleagues, moves away from digital to return to a form that almost tastes of the past. The gesture, the ink on the paper return to have vital importance, in fact, Virginia realizes her drawings exclusively with pencil and black Bic pen.
This stylistic choice goes perfectly with the subjects and imaginations that come out of her pen. Surreal, disturbing worlds that arrive straight at the spectator and manage to upset him.
All this gives life to extraordinary works, perfect both when they are stationary on paper and when they are in motion, as in the music video-clip of Walt Grace’s Submarine Test by John Mayer, which I recommend you go and watch, but only after seeing how he answered the questions of our Illustrated Interview.
