Director Fabio Friedli pays homage to Sergei Eisenstein in the video In a Nutshell and, thanks to the montage, it contains the life cycle in 5 minutes.

Eisenstein is considered by all to be the father of modern montage and his theories and teachings are still applied today in many films, TV series and videos. One of these is In a Nutshell by director and animator Fabio Friedli, who in just 5 minutes literally managed to enclose life, or at least everything that represents it.

Starting from a small seed, we are presented with a series of objects that, taken individually, would have no meaning, but assembled in connection with what comes before and what we see after, acquire a meaning.

Through the images that change at a fast pace, various topics are dealt with, such as food, war, religion, immigration and all this is possible thanks to the editing.

At the end of the video, you will not remember all the things you saw, but you will be impressed with the themes that the images represent.
