Infra Realism, Palm Springs through Kate Ballis eyes

Infra Realism, Palm Springs through Kate Ballis eyes

Palm Springs has been photographed from every angle and point of view.
Its modernist architecture, vintage cars and immaculate landscape are some of the most popular spots for photographers around the world.

But Kate Ballis, despite the number of projects on the web, managed to create something very different with her amazing Infra Realism.

Through the use of various infrared filters, in fact, it has managed to give a surreal touch to landscapes and all the details that are part of it.

If you love this kind of project you have to go here and here.

JR shots at last night Oscar party

JR shots at last night Oscar party

Giulia Pacciardi · 2 years ago · Photography

In Los Angeles, on the night between Sunday and Monday, were delivered all the 2018 Oscars, without too many twists and turns and special euphoria.

But, as every year, the award of the most famous and prestigious prizes of international cinema has brought together countless world-famous artists who, after the ceremony, found themselves cheerful and carefree in front of JR‘s camera, the young artist competing with Agnès Varda for the documentary Visages Villages.

The two didn’t bring home the prize, won by Icarus, the documentary by Bryan Fogel and Dan Cogan, but JR nevertheless managed to be the after party protagonist, the relaxed and untiring one.

In fact, from Kim Kardashian to Madonna, from Cardi B to Quavo Huncho, from the unleashed Jennifer Lawrence to Sienna Miller to the award-winning Guillermo Del Toro and Sam Rockwell, what he managed to achieve were fun, simple and spontaneous shots.

So much better than the most famous group selfie of the world.

Hopscotch, Pau Buscató’s playful imagination

Hopscotch, Pau Buscató’s playful imagination

Giulia Pacciardi · 2 years ago · Photography

As we grow up we lose ourselves and leave whole worlds behind us.
Childhood, games, freedom.
This is where the entire creative process of Oslo photographer Pau Buscató starts, trying to capture the world through the use of imagination and play.
Hopscotch is the result.

“As we grow into adulthood we tend to lose our sense of play, we build walls to appear stronger, more serious, more adult, and so we leave behind the part of us that… turned our backyard into wonderland and that tree into a fortress.”

A set of images in which the ordinary rises and becomes imaginary through simple, innocent ideas, full of humor and full of playfulness that try to give life a glimpse of lightness.

Mauricio Alejo transforms everyday objects into works of art

Mauricio Alejo transforms everyday objects into works of art

Giulia Pacciardi · 2 years ago · Photography

Everything can have different meanings depending on the point of view from which we look at it.
Even the simplest and the most obvious can change if decontextualized and deprived of its main characteristics.

The entire work of Mexican photographer Mauricio Alejo is based on this concept.
For 16 years, he has photographed everyday objects with the aim of transforming them into something different, disturbing and unnatural for the viewer.

Using the apartments in which he has lived as a background to his work, the pictures he takes are a collection of his personal memories that cast doubt on dogmatic opinions on space and meaning by creating unusual narratives with objects that are not fascinating but that become interesting in their randomness and absurdity.

“I hope to bring the items into a new narrative which doesn’t obey their functionality.”

Lux Noctis, the play of lights of Reuben Wu

Lux Noctis, the play of lights of Reuben Wu

Giulia Ficicchia · 2 years ago · Photography

Reuben Wu is one of the leading experts of the kind of photography that can surprise you with little. A desolate landscape becomes a futurist painting with the right colors, a horizon lights up in the dark, a road seems to be endless.

There’s no surprise if one of his photographic series, Lux Noctis, captures right away its observer, surprising him with plays of lights in natural, dark and unexplored places.

The photographer has recently added new photographs, where, through the use of illuminated drones, he realizes halos on rocky summits. With creativity and skill, he brings us into a natural world from a different galaxy, a new planet to explore, the light suddenly comes to show us for the first time what is around us.
