Polish painter Jarek Puczel loves to build stories by focusing on illusion and revealing the materiality of colours. His subjects do not easily show their faces, but always assume roles that empathically involve the viewer, through the representation of universal experiences.

Human figures are metaphorically synthesized through the main psychological characteristics, and are mainly depicted on a flat background. The almost materic colour shows and covers at the same time and pushes us to read between the lines, as in the Lovers series, where Jarek focuses on the intimate connections between couples.
