What exists between a worker and his inbox is not an easy relationship, it is well known. Especially because, in addition to requests, tasks and to-do lists, many emails are nonsensical low blows, avoidable obstacles and out-of-schedule slowdowns that could easily be circumvented. Moreover, behind every email, there is a particular grammar that contains implicit meanings that affect us all, languages that are difficult to explain in words.
The Portuguese communication agency Klüg, although small and only four years old, has been able to summarise this language in a brilliant digital campaign entitled, simply, “Email Translator“.
In a series of straightforward and effective images, Klüg has summarised all the subtle jargon of business emails. Hidden behind common thank-you notes, formal concepts and fancy words are the thoughts of the writer, the stress that accompanies the tasks to be done, the tension and nervousness of wasting time on useless messages.
There’s not much to explain, watch the campaign here and share it with everyone.
