Lin Zhipeng is a Beijing photographer also known as 223 who takes sensual and allusive photographs, to give space to a reality censored in his country. Looking at his work, it’s like watching Nobuyoshi Araki‘s production, intense and erotic, but at the same time fragile and poetic. Zhipeng gathers this aesthetic to rework it, transforming the nude and sensuality into something incredibly far from the concept of taboo.
It is interesting to note how the great naturalness in the representation of such a private theme becomes a weapon to speak also of sexual freedom.
The subjects are all his friends who are told in moments of daily intimacy, with the intention of wanting to capture the beauty of the temporariness of the body, which here becomes an added value.
