It can be said that most painters are particularly fond of a subject and the painter Martin Jonsson does not fail in this trend. In fact, the clouds represent a sort of leitmotif in the works of the Swedish artist. They appear in almost all his oil paintings, sometimes they obscure faces, sometimes they keep the solitary figures wandering in the darkness, becoming themselves the real protagonists.

This creates surreal, mystic images. It is not surprising, therefore, to know that Martin Jonsson is inspired by artists such as René Magritte or Salvador Dalí.

Despite the surreal images and mystic atmospheres his works are never excessive, indeed, always pursuing an ideal of beauty and harmony.
