A few days ago, Galeria Melissa in Covent Garden turned into a hypnotic place thanks to the beautiful work of Gary Card. The famous set designer who curates the catwalks of some of the most famous brands in the world such as Louis Vuitton, Stella McCartney, Balenciaga, and Vivienne Westwood at Paris Fashion Week, has arrived in London with Melissa Medusa, an unpublished exhibition.

Gary Card has given life to his personal vision of a modern Medusa that hypnotizes viewers. Following her 3D tentacles of an iridescent red, one arrives at Medusa’s huge floating head.

“I thought Medusa was a fun character to explore, I started thinking: what if Medusa had a teenage daughter, with flowing pigtails made up of cartoon cats instead of snakes.”

In perfect line with the style of Galeria Melissa’s innovative brand, Gary plays with materials such as plastic and combines them with a structure of LED lights. It’s like entering the modern and innovative den of Medusa.
