Lights, sounds, colours and sensations, all accompanied by good music: this is the club, a place where you can forget your worries and let yourself go, because eternity is enclosed in a moment and everything that happens during the night is simple and pure magic.
Karel Chladek is a photographer who wants to imprint this magic in the memory of the viewer, so as not to leave all his secrets at night, sharing them with others, so as never to forget.
“For years now I’ve been obsessed by the culture of nightlife, not only for
it’s personas and debauchery but also for its hidden instants. Points in time that seem so pure, where individuals are at their most vulnerable. This has driven me to focus a lot of my work towards capturing genuine, unstaged moments at night”.
No More I Love You is the series of shots that Karel has dedicated to kissing and, more generally, to the love born in clubs. Will they last forever? Who knows, forever becomes a moment, a fragment of emotion that Karel knows how to capture with attention and credibility. Maybe these couples don’t love each other anymore, maybe they never loved each other, maybe they weren’t even couples, who cares?
This is no longer important, what counts is contained in the images: to live the moment without thinking about tomorrow, because the next day the magic could vanish. No More I Love You is the moment when we didn’t ask ourselves why, but simply why not? To feel alive, to feel less anesthetized about life and to dance before the sun comes up.
