Olivia Steele’s neons, little truths

-
Giulia Guido

As the street lamps in the night illuminate the street, Olivia Steele‘s neon lights shed light on uncomfortable truths and deep feelings.

Born in 1985, Olivia was born in Tennessee, and from a young age shows a special interest in light in all its forms which, after several years and various work experiences, has turned into her work. Today, in fact, that of Olivia Steele is an internationally known name and her works make thousands of people dream every day.

Olivia is a real light artist, specialized in the use of neon that shapes and works as she likes to transform it into short sentences that capture the eye and the heart.

These are small aphorisms, sometimes just a word, that stand out in the places where they are placed. In fact, Olivia Steele’s work does not end with the manual writing, but continues with the choice of the place where they are placed. It is only once they are placed that their meaning will be fully expressed.

So, while the word “feelings” is locked in a cage and the inscription “I still love you” burns in the middle of the sea, the neon-lit world of Olivia Steele appears to us like a dream.

We have selected only some of her works, but to discover them all visit her website and her Instagram profile.
