There are works of art that have a luminous atmosphere so real, a patina so much three-dimensional that it almost seems like you can enter the scene and live the moment painted by the artists.
The creative studio Ymage Works has tried to define the space of some of the most famous works of art, through 3D modeling of the environments and architectures painted by Van Gogh, Hopper or Magritte. To do so, in the RE-YMAGINED series, any human presence was excluded. In this way, only the composition of the scenic space is highlighted, an aspect that at first glance often takes second place when viewing the works. Museum-goers cannot help but feel in awe, frozen, by the austere gaze of the two figures portrayed by Grant Wood in his masterpiece “American Gothic“. It is more difficult for them to notice the Carpenther Gothic dwelling behind them, which is fundamental in defining the context and meaning of the work.

Thanks to Ymage Works it is possible to think of sitting at the counter of Phillie’s painted by Edward Hopper, or to be surrounded by the floral wallpaper represented by Henri Matisse in his “The Dessert: Harmony in Red“.
The feeling of strolling through the streets of Paris in Gustave Caillebotte‘s time becomes more real, as well as the starry skies and night atmospheres represented by a huge artist like Vincent Van Gogh.
