Paratissima, the Social Company born in 2005 with the aim of creating an exhibition space for emerging artists and creatives, is back again this year with a full program of events and divided into 4 appointments. The last of them is called Ph.ocus – About Photography, will be entirely dedicated to photography and will open next November 27th at the ARTiglieria Con/temporary Art Center in Turin.
The ARTiglieria will host two exhibitions. The first, “Please, take care“, aims to investigate the role of photography today. In a historical period in which in a single day about 100 million images are shared on Instagram and even more are taken without being published, the question that arises is “What does “taking photography” mean today?“
The answers to this question will be the shots of some emerging photographers who have been asked to investigate what they think deserves to be photographed.
The second exhibition, however, could not go without analyzing the period that we have been living for a few months now. “Please, stay home” will present the photographic projects born and realized at home, during the lockdown, a period in which, unexpectedly, despite the endless passing of days, all the same, we were able to find, or discover, a creativity that we would never have imagined.
Being so wide, this theme led to the birth of a special section, a sort of spin-off that took the name Quarantined.
We at Collater.al have always believed in the power of images to tell moods, historical moments and events related to current events, and we are happy to be media partners of Ph.ocus – About Photography.
Precisely for this reason, we will accompany you during this month that separates us from the opening of the exhibitions with a series of interviews with some of the photographers who participated in this project.
Stay tuned!
