In the world of Italian street artist Manuel Di Rita aka Peeta there is no room for preconceptions or simply something well defined, but on the contrary, with his art, he wants to solicit the emergence of new perspectives.
In my pictorial, sculptural and mural compositions, the geometrical shapes I design behave as they interact with the surrounding environment.
The anamorphism that we find in almost all his works totally embodies the intent, an effect always central to his creations.
The artist through his art is always ready to reveal the fallacy of narrow points of view through visual tricks that, proceeding from the attempt to give a three-dimensional appearance to a pictorial representation, eventually reveal their will to deceive.
Anamorphic art was a real breakthrough for him.
With this technique he was able to give new life to the buildings in which he worked, overturning almost any type of structure.
His shapes and his designs intertwine and intersect in the buildings creating geometric shapes sometimes smooth sometimes irregular, totally distorting their appearance.
In addition to having toured the length and breadth of Italy, Peeta has disseminated his art around the world. From Japan to France, his optical illusions have managed to enchant everyone.
In the photos above you can observe what he himself defines as “a temporary interruption of normality”, thus creating a different understanding of space and, consequently, of reality as a whole.
But in addition to revolutionizing buildings and homes, Peeta is also a sculptor, an all-around artist capable of working with PVC, bronze and fiberglass.
His sculptures always start from a draft, a drawing, and are then reworked with professional 3D design software.
And it is from the sculpture that his ideas start, as it represents a direct contact with the three-dimensionality to understand the rules of light and shadows and reproduce them. This is an essential element of his artistic activity that characterizes him even more.
