On 5 and 6 October, the spaces of Gate 4 of Fieramilanocity, hosted the zero edition of PLUG-Mi, the first Italian event focused on urban culture experience.
Singers, rappers, designers, creatives, and artists made themselves open to the public, offering their art uninterruptedly for two days, live performances, sitting next to the visitors during the organized workshops and creating debates and dialogues during talks. If you missed it read below how it went, if, instead, you did not miss PLUG-Mi, relive the highlights through our photos and video reportage.
Day 1
With a rather heavy baggage of expectations, the first curious people showed up at the entrance at 12.00 o’clock on the dot and after taking the time to look at all the stands present, from KIDSOFBROKENFUTURE to Gagà , and having had a coffee the first of the long list of events on the schedule of the day that have been able to satisfy all tastes has begun.
On the central stage, that of Radio 105, official partner, were several guests who brought their testimony on topics related to the world of streetwear during the talks: two representatives of AWLab and StoneFish spoke about what happens when sport and fashion cross their streets, then the guys from Mundus Hub told the background of their products and the study that lies behind their work, finally during the talk with Tedua and Domenico Formichetti was discussed about Personal Branding. Meanwhile, in the Collater.al area, Ghemon, a great lover of sneakers, told some curiosities related to this passion.
Also in the Collater.al area, there have been several workshops that have allowed the public to meet creatives and designers and work with them side by side.

Sneakssniper gave the opportunity to work on the template of a t-shirt and learn how to structure the position of graphics to be applied to the t-shirts, while Mundus Hub provided participants with all their working tools in order to customize a pair of PUMA RS-X Winterised.
The workshop/demonstration divided into two days by Broken Board Design professionals who, with an electric saw, created a skateboard from a simple piece of wood that did not go unnoticed. Last but not least, we must mention Stefano Colferai, the Italian plasticine artist who all the time, both days, taught how to make his famous sculptures in plasticine.

The day was accompanied and warmed up by the live performances of the artists who took turns throughout the day, the energy of Noe, the irreverence of Quentin40, the unique style of Chadia Rodriguez, the crazy performance of Don Said and Albert and, to close the curtain on the first day, Luchè who managed to involve the entire public and even some insiders.
Day 2
The second day didn’t disappoint. Many people preferred the workshops of Mundus Hub, Erasmo Ciufo, and Sfetano Colferai to the Sunday lunch with the family: in the Collater.al area, 15 fortunate persons customized a white pair of Nike Force 1 low with special colors and preparatory studies and as many of them carefully followed the lesson of the founder of Lettergram and then, for more than three hours and equipped with computers and tablets, they committed themselves to revisit the logo of a brand.
In the afternoon, however, the space dedicated to the workshops was divided into two parts.

One was dedicated to skateboarders who, together with the guys from Atypical, have customized a skateboard, while the other was occupied by Domenico Formichetti who gave life to a real creative lab during which the participants gave vent to the imagination by transforming a simple white sweatshirt into a unique and inimitable garment.

For those who could not register in time for the workshops, there was, however, no way to get bored. The themes discussed during the talks were also of interest to the most skeptical. From the skate world, with the guys from Broken Board Design telling their story and how their passion has become a job, they moved on to the founders of Nove25, the famous Milanese silver jewellery store, who presented the new MyNove25 technology, the world’s first online 3D jewellery configurator. Streetwear also had its place during the talks with Dolly Noir and AW Lab first and with Barengo and Drug Fashion Club later.

In addition to resonating in the large spaces of Gate 4 of Fieramilanocity, the music was the protagonist of one of the most popular talks, the one that saw a constructive and stimulating response between Nitro and Tommaso Naccari on the theme of rap and its role in Italy.

More than the previous day, Sunday’s schedule offered a lot of live music that attracted Dani Faiv and Beba‘s fans under the central stage, but also made them dance during the challenge of 6 dance crews that faced each other at dance steps and managed to involve the audience more than ever.
Obviously, the Machete Stage couldn’t be any less and the rhythm and boldness of the freestyle battle participants were probably perceived even by the cars in the ring road queue.
To calm the waters down a bit, Elodie‘s exclusive live show arrived on time, as well as her repertoire, and the inevitable Margarita, which reminded us only for a moment of last summer, also performed in pieces such as Back To Black by the great Amy Winehouse.

Fighting against fever and flu, MamboLosco took the central stage, a cup of hot tea in one hand and a microphone in the other, and made so much noise that in comparison Inter-Juve fans looked like old people at the hospice, putting the final stamp on the zero edition of PLUG-Mi.
If you missed PLUG-Mi, you can only hope for next year. Stay tuned!Â
