Jack Forrest, known on Instagram as @cheersjack, is an Australian multi-disciplinary graphic designer who, about a year ago, started a very interesting typography project. After graduating with a degree in Visual Communication from the University of Technology in Sydney, he started a challenge with himself and, in order to increase his skills and enlarge his portfolio, he started making a poster a day.

“I was just looking for a way to grow and improve as a designer. I wanted to try making something (almost) every single day and fingers crossed after a couple months, these things would look better than they did when I started.”

“Aligning big letters with pretty pictures” is how he defines his work, but we believe it is much more than that. Synthesis is a graphic designer’s trump card, but being able to experiment with different styles and combine images and layouts with consistency and balance as he does is not so easy.

Jack Forrest is always trying to make different posters, mixing typographic elements, words, photographs and illustrations, then animating them and creating original, colourful and bold content.
