São Paulo—with its more than 12 million inhabitants—is an immense metropolis, a labyrinth of buildings stretching endlessly, often giving it a chaotic and grey appearance that sets it apart from all other major cities in the world. However, photographer Rafa Rojas has decided to challenge this perception with his project Colors of a Grey City, a visual exploration that breaks the city down into minimalist and chromatically vibrant elements.

Rafa Rojas’ São Paulo

Through a careful selection of architectural details and unexpected perspectives, Rojas transforms São Paulo into a mosaic of bright colors that stand out against the concrete and asphalt. The result is a new interpretation of the city, moving away from its monochromatic image and opening up to a more dynamic and artistic vision of urban space. With this series, Rojas demonstrates how color can become a tool for rediscovery, revealing beauty and creativity even in the most unexpected contexts.
