Oct. 8, 2022. Piazza Ciro Esposito was filled with music, lights and people. The first Red Bull 64 Bars Live, in partnership with Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2, put the spotlight (in every sense of the word) on the constructions called “Vele” of Scampia, using rap as a tool for economic and social revitalization in one of Naples’ most sadly famous neighborhoods. The sold-out event, with 8.500 people, was a huge success. Ernia, Fabri Fibra, Geolier, Guè, Madame and Marracash were the rappers who enlivened the evening, and as was intended, they were all perfect in their execution, from start to finish, thanks also to a masterful orchestration by TY1 from Salerno.

The partnership of Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 certainly raised the level of the experience, thanks to a guided tour that preceded the live show organized in the beating heart of Naples, which, as complex as it was, included all the truest and rawest nuances of the city, managing to perfectly combine music and technology: the dual soul of this show. Soul summed up perfectly thanks also to the artistic collective Disintegrati, active since 2015, which then became a Social Promotion Association in 2021 with the task of proposing new ways of territorial growth.

Without doubt it is possible to say that this was one of the highest events in the history of Italian rap and that it included in a transversal way all generations of mc, in fact in the opening of the main event it was also possible to listen to a DJ set by HellHeaven11 plus the performances of Dipinto and Plug Neves17, who warmed up the audience with three effective and well-structured performances. Then it was the turn of two talents of the new Neapolitan scene, J Lord and Vettosi, who have re-established attention on the Neapolitan scene in recent months.

Finally, it is impossible not to mention the real host, Geolier, who closed the event with his anthem “Pe’ Secondigliano” managing to have a unique impact and to make 8.500 people jump at the same time, showing that at only 20 years old he has a stage lucidity worthy of the greatest national and non-national artists, thanks also to a flawless and eclectic performance.
It was definitely the place to be, but don’t despair: as announced at the end of the show the Red Bull 64 Bars Live will return in 2023.
