On October 24, 2024, at Reference Point in 180 Studios, London, Shim El Yasmine: London for Lebanon, a charity event, will be held. Organized by a collective of artists and creatives, the event aims to honor Lebanon’s rich cultural heritage through film, music, and poetry. Among the notable figures involved, photographer Choucri Bechirs and artist Ahmed Amer have made significant contributions with their work to support this important initiative.

Bechirs has chosen to depict the sense of resistance and community that characterizes the Lebanese region. Her works are more than just photographs; they are visual stories that speak of a fragile yet indomitable beauty, portraying a people who, despite hardships, continue to fight for their future.

The event is much more than a fundraising effort. Its goal is to challenge stereotypes and change the dominant narrative about the Middle East, highlighting voices of resilience from both Lebanon and Gaza. Proceeds will go to Beit el Baraka, a Lebanese non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the local community.
