The crazy and irreverent photographs by Sofia Furió

According to the rule that if there is the good there is the bad, if there is white there is black, then if there is an elegant and delicate type of photography there is also irreverent and sometimes crazy one. This is demonstrated by Sofia Furió and her photographs.

Sofia Furió is a very young and talented Argentinean girl who in a very short time has had extraordinary success on Instagram, where she is known as @soffurio. Sofia studied theatre and we can certainly say that her love for staging, for theatricality, can be found in her personal work.

The photographer takes inspiration from her surroundings, from the elements that populate her Millennial world: cartoon characters, children’s magazine covers, Barbie dolls, stickers, temporary tattoos, slices of cake and irreverent and direct phrases.

A key element in Sofia Furió’s work is an ironic and fun approach that leads her to cover her face with stickers featuring the faces of Hollywood’s most famous characters or to write “I’m wet” on a pancake sprinkled with maple syrup.

Another element not to be underestimated is the colour palette of her photographs, which embraces all shades of pink, and a style reminiscent of magazines from the 70s and 80s. The final result is shots that attract us with their aesthetics and make us smile with their message.

Sofia’s is the story of an entire generation that grew up bombarded by different inputs, that speaks and expresses itself through images, that knows very well where it wants to go, but never forgets to have fun and to put a pinch of madness in every single day.
